Comfort Bedjabeng

Hello, my name is Comfort Adjua Bedjabeng. I have a Bachelor's degree in English Language and a minor in Religion from the University of Cape Coast. I am now pursuing an MPhil in English Education. I am strongly dedicated to improving English teaching and educational practices. Beyond my aspiring career as a teacher, I am also dedicated to promoting mental well-being among young people, striving to nurture their growth both intellectually and emotionally.
In my early years as an adult, I quietly faced problems I could not explain. What I thought was strength was really a hidden fight with anxiety and emotional issues. On the outside, I looked successful; on the inside, I dealt with problems that impacted my relationships, daily life, and overall health.
Fortunately, I had the privilege take a course in guidance and counselling in my 4th year in the university. This course opened my eyes to the world and exposed me to a lot of ways of living well. This was how I started getting enlightened. I went on to work in the department of guidance and counselling as a service personnel where I had the opportunity to work with some counsellors.
This experience transformed my perspective on life and how crucial support is in managing personal issues. I learned that to have mental health problems does not signify being crazy, as most perceive, but it entails a lot. I was able to escape my situation by numerous steps.
Inspired by these transformative experiences, I became determined to help assist others who might be facing similar challenges. My first step in achieving this goal was to become a mental health advocate. In pursuit of this mission, I have collaborated with the President of the Psycheshare Community, to start a mental health awareness blog. The aim of this project is to offer a safe space for people to share their stories, gain access to educational resources, and learn how to heal.
My goal is to contribute to building a world where mental stability is prioritised, including in the classrooms where I teach. With your assistance at Psycheshare, we want to share our stories so that others may be able to visualise and address their problems. Together, we can foster a community where everyone is empowered to live life with a healthy mind.
